NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE – MUHLBAUER INC.



UPGRADE CURRENCY INSPECTION SYSTEM (CIS)



The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of the Chief Procurement Officer (OCPO) on behalf of the office of Engraving intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract to Upgrade Currency Inspection Systems utilizing a Justification and Approval in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5. The intended contractor is Muhlbauer Inc.



The Currency Inspection Systems at both currency facilities, Washington D.C. (DCF) and Fort Worth, TX (WCF) require upgrades necessary to inspect newly designed Catalyst bank note features. The upgrades shall include Dual Band IR inspection, lighting upgrades, feeder system upgrades. See attached Statement of Work for additional details.



This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive offers/quotes/proposals. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information, or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.
