Notice of Intent to Sole Source Notice for a E&E Newsfeed Subscription

United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Economic Research Service (ERS), has a requirement for renewal of E&E Daily News, Greenwire, Climatewire, and E&E PM, all of which are used widely by ERS leadership and research economists. This subscription renewal will continue our access to the most up to date information in the areas of energy and the environment. Agency users have established customizable alerts for tools included in the platform subscription credits to enable policy area push content including newsletters, news content, breaking news alerts, and Teleconferences, among other things.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 513199 All Other Publishers with a Size Standard of 1,000 employees.

E&E subscriptions plus is a useful tool that allows ERS staff to have access to access to energy and environment information to allow for better stakeholder outreach, legislation status, in-depth legislative information and data, congressional hearing and other government-related event transcripts, detailed committee and subcommittee coverage, legislative tracking, and many other features. Since ERS routinely provides information used by USDA' s most senior officials to brief the Assistant Secretary of Congressional Relations, the Chief of Staff and the Director of Congressional Relations on energy and environmental topics, it is imperative that researcher and leadership have access to the best available information.

Additionally, per a Congressional Directive, ERS researchers are actively providing research on climate change and greenhouse gas emissions mitigation strategies and their nexus with agriculture. The E&E newsfeeds are a vital part of providing the most current information possible.
