Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE

This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation orrequest for off ers. No solicitation package is available and telephone requests will not behonored. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agencyrequirements.



The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) intends to award a sole source purchase order to NaturalPoint, of Corvallis, OR, to provide a commercially available Motion Capture System, meeting the fit, form and functionspecified in the statement of work/specifications document.



The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 334310, Audio and Video Equipment Manufacturing, with the size standard of 750 employees. The Federal Supply Code (FSC) / Product Service Code (PSC) procurement is 6710



.



This purchase will be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with: Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.5, which authorizes the use of simplified rocedures for the acquisition of supplies and services in amounts greater than the simplified acquisition threshold but not exceeding $7.5 million ($15 million or acquisitions as described in 13.500(c)), including options , if the Contracting Officer reasonably expects, based on the nature of the supplies or services sought, and on market research , that offers will include only commercial products or commercial services .



Interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement prior to the closing date/time.. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct acompetitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposedpurchase order based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of theGovernment. No reimbursement for any cost connected with providing capability informationwill be provided.
