The purpose of this contract action is to perform maintenance on the venturi tube taps following replacement of the transmitters and associated plumbing, electrical, and mounting accessories to provide accurate water flowrate and head pressure readings. The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and supplies to complete the following work for each of the (26) filter venturis in the East Filter Building:
- Clean high-pressure and low-pressure venturi tube taps using rodding and flushing procedures.
- Replace piping, valves, and fittings from the venturi taps to the Rate of Flow transmitter and Loss of Head transmitter. Bronze or steel isolation valves shall be replaced with 304 stainless steel type. All other material types shall be replaced in kind.
- Replace the Rate of Flow transmitter and the Loss of Head transmitter and perform calibration on the new transmitters. Replace all conduits, fittings, and conductors between the transmitters and the control console. Incorporate a means to prevent water ingress into the transmitters via the incoming conduit (i.e. drip loop, grommets, seals, etc.). Provide a calibration report for each transmitter.
- Replace the mounting posts supporting the transmitters with 304 stainless steel posts and properly mount the transmitters for visual operation of the screens.
